Introducing the new type of rifle 'Trika' at the Trichy gun factory
- Factory General Manager Sanjay Dwivedi unveiled the new rifle at an event held at the Trichy Rifle Factory. This new type of tricycle gun weighs 3.1 kg. 7.62X39 mm small rifle. It is a very powerful personal automatic rifle that can greatly assist security personnel and special operations forces in high security areas such as military war vehicles, helicopters, paratroopers, guards, and airports.
- The Trika is designed to hide the light and noise during firing and to shoot longer distances than other guns. Like the Trichy Assault Rifle and the AK47 rifle, the Trika has the ability to disassemble and replace parts.
- This type of pistol is small enough for security guards to hide in their pockets. It is noteworthy that this type of gun was developed by the research and development division in the factory.
Approval of OBC Quote in Medical Student Admission
- The Central Government has announced the allocation of 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in the All India quota for medical education. 10 per cent reservation is to be given to the economically backward sections. These will come into effect during the current academic year.

- While Rabindranath Kumar MP has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Administrative Committee of the National Maritime University, DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran has also been appointed as a member of the Judicial Administrative Committee of the University.
