New technology to detect storm surges by wind - Indian scientists invent
  • Even before the satellite discovered the possibility of a storm, Indian scientists had developed new technology to detect it by wind vortex.
  • This allows for early detection of storms and precautionary measures to prevent loss of life and property damage.
  • So far, the formation of storms by remote food satellites has been predicted. These can be detected by satellite imagery after the formation of a barometric depression on the surface of the warm ocean.
  • Having more space between this discovery and the storm attack will help to take precautionary measures.
  • The vortex is formed before the satellite captures the formation of air pressure in the northern Indian Ocean. This storm vortex is the main feature that creates the barometric depression.
  • New technology to detect this vortex has been discovered by IIT Karachi scientists Zia Albot, Vishnupriya Saku and Prasad K. Baskaran. Their research project was aided by the Climate Change Project under the Federal Department of Science and Technology.
  • This cyclone detection technology can detect storms in the North Indian Ocean before the satellite detects them. This research article was recently published in the journal Atmospheric Research.
