Indian Coast Guard launches new IG Responsibility
- Anand Prakash Badola has taken over as the new IG of the Eastern Region of the Indian Coast Guard. S. Paramesh, a former IG, has been transferred as the Western Regional Commander of the Indian Coast Guard.
- Newly-appointed Anand Prakash joined the Indian Coast Guard in 1990. Anand Prakash, from Uttarakhand, received the President's Datraksh award last year for his outstanding service in the Coast Guard.
- The G7 summit, which will feature the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Jomani, Italy and Japan, will take place in Cornwall, UK from June 11 to 13.

- The Federal Ministry of Road Transport has issued new rules for driving trainees in accredited schools, RDOs, to obtain ‘licenses’ without operating vehicles in offices.
- Those who have undergone driving training in government-recognized training schools, known as RDOs, are currently issued licenses only if they drive the vehicle properly at the regional transport office.
- In these practices, the Federal Ministry of Road Transport has made changes. According to the new rules: Accredited driving schools will be required to build training facilities on 2 acres.
- They should have the facility with training vehicle design. The trainer must be accredited by the Central Government.
- Conduct classes on traffic signs, traffic rules, vehicle structure, public relations, and first aid. Driving should be taught in mountain, village, city, ridge, ditch and other settings.
- After such training, the 'sensor' must pass the driving test on the runway and record the 'video'.
- With these credentials they can get a license without having to go to the RDO, office and drive the vehicle. The new procedure will come into effect from the 1st of next month.
- More than 10 lakh Indians live in the Middle Eastern country of Kuwait. An agreement has been reached to bring Indians working as domestic workers under one legal framework.
- It was signed by the Indian Ambassador to the country CB George and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Majdi Ahmed Al Tabiri. Our Foreign Minister Jaishankar was accompanied by the then Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al Mohammed Al-Sabah.
- The agreement paves the way for regulating the employment of Kuwaiti Indians in domestic work and providing legal protection to those employed. Through this an employment agreement will be introduced to ensure the rights and obligations of employers and domestic workers. A 24-hour assistance system will be set up for the workers here.
