2.Indian Highways
Management Company, incorporated by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI),
has recently introduced the ‘Missed Call Alert Facility’ to check the FASTag
balance of the users.The toll-free number ‘8884333331’ will be available
throughout the day. The users of FASTags, who have registered their mobile
numbers with NHAI Prepaid wallet, can give a missed call to the number, to
check their FASTag balance. The prepaid payment can be done through the My
FASTag App, which can be linked to the NHAI wallet or to the Savings account of
13 banks.

3.The Union Home
Minister Amit Shah is to launch the new platform POL NET 2.0. during the
national conference of ‘Heads of public protection and Disaster relief
organisations’ on January 20 in New Delhi.The Directorate of Coordination
Police Wireless manages and operates POLNET or the police network services in
the country. The Directorate has created a new robust communication platform
with improved multi-media facilities, for Police and Security forces called POL
NET 2.0. It will be beneficial during disasters or law and order problems.

4.The State government
of Uttarakhand recently released a notification that it has made a policy to
lease agricultural land, becoming the first Indian state to implement such
policy.According to the policy, any institution, company or NGO can take farm land
on lease for 30 years, provided the leased land is below 30 acres. The farmers
who own the land will receive the corresponding rent during the leased period.
Difficulties in leasing land for agriculture and plantation in hilly areas and
consolidation of fragmented land are being solved by the policy.

5.Union Minister for
Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel has recently launched a volunteer scheme
‘SERVICE’ for the employees of the Indian PSU Steel Authority of India Limited
(SAIL).The scheme called, SAIL Employees Rendering Volunteerism &
Initiatives for Community Engagement (SERVICE), will be made operational from
the foundation day of the company, which is on January 24. Under the scheme,
the employees are encouraged to voluntarily indulge themselves in social
activities, with main focus on education, health and women empowerment.

6.The state government
of Haryana has launched an initiative called ‘Reading Mission- Haryana’. The
initiative was launched to encourage reading habit among the young students of
the state.The scheme is on the lines of the ‘Reading Mission 2022’, launched by
the central government. Under the state’s initiative, monthly book review
sessions and mass book reading are to be organised by students in educational
institutions.

7.The Ministry of
Tribal Affairs launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana’ in 2019, through
TRIFED. It aims at creating livelihood for tribal people by using the forest
produce. Van Dhan Kendras are set up to add branding and packaging their
products.Recently, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Arjun Munda
inaugurated the “Workshop on Van Dhan and Entrepreneurship Development” organized
by TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India).

8.IRCTC recently
announced that the Indian Railways is to operate a special pilgrimage tourist
train Shri Ramayana Express. The special train of IRCTC, which will cover the
pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Ram known as the ‘Ramayana Circuit of
India’, is to be run from March 28, from New Delhi.It will have ten coaches
including five AC 3 tier coaches. The booking of the tour of 16 nights -17 days
is to be carried out on first come first take basis.
8. எஸ்.ஆர்.சி.டி.சி சமீபத்தில் இந்திய ரயில்வே சிறப்பு புனித யாத்திரை சுற்றுலா ரயிலை ஸ்ரீ ராமாயண எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் இயக்கப்போவதாக அறிவித்தது. ‘ராமாயண சர்க்யூட் ஆஃப் இந்தியா’ என்று அழைக்கப்படும் பகவான் ராமுடன் தொடர்புடைய புனித யாத்திரை இடங்களை உள்ளடக்கும் ஐ.ஆர்.சி.டி.சியின் சிறப்பு ரயில் மார்ச் 28 முதல் புதுதில்லியில் இருந்து இயக்கப்பட உள்ளது. இதில் ஐந்து ஏசி 3 அடுக்கு பயிற்சியாளர்கள் உட்பட பத்து பெட்டிகள் இருக்கும். 16 இரவுகள் -17 நாட்கள் சுற்றுப்பயணத்தின் முன்பதிவு முதலில் வந்து முதலில் எடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
9.The fourth
Anniversary of the launch of Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) was
observed on 21st February. In 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the
Mission under the Ministry of Rural Development, on the same date.Under the
mission, well planned Rurban clusters are created to stimulate local economic
development and thereby creating an inclusive rural development.

10.The First
anniversary of the launch of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)
scheme was recently observed on February 24, 2020.PM-KISAN is a Central Sector
scheme with 100% funding from Government of India. Under the Scheme an annual income
support of Rs.6000 is provided to all farmer families across the country in
three equal instalments of Rs.2000.

of Civil Aviation has launched a new initiative called ‘Lifeline Udan’ under
which flights are operated to transport essential medical supplies across the
country amid coronavirus lockdown.The air carriers which are involved in
Lifeline Udan operations include Air India, Alliance Air, Indian Air Force and
Pawan Hans. Cargo hubs have been established at Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad,
Bangalore and Kolkata

12.The Cabinet
Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister has recently approved
the fixation of Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for Phosphatic and Potassic
(P&K) Fertilizers for the year 2020-21.Inclusion of the new complex
fertilizer, Ammonium Phosphate has also been approved by the CCEA. Rs.
22,186.55 crore would be spent for releasing subsidy on P&K Fertilizers
during 2020-21. Through the Nutrient based Subsidy scheme, Government provides
subsidy to the fertiliser company, enabling them to sell to farmers at
subsidised rate.

13.The Chief Minister
of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently launched a scheme in Amaravati,
which seeks to provide loans to the women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of the state,
at zero percent interest.The Chief Minister released about ₹1,400 crore for the
scheme, which is expected to benefit nearly 8.78 lakh SHGs. The interest
component of ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 will be borne by the state government. At
present, the SHGs borrow from banks at interest rate of 7 to 13 per cent.

14.The Task Force on
National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) submitted its Final Report for FY
2019-25 to the Union Finance Minister. The summary report was released in
December last year.The National Infrastructure Pipeline was announced during
the 2019-20 budget. The exercise aims to invest Rs. 100 lakh crore on
infrastructure of the country over the next five years. The Final Report of NIP
Task Force projects total infrastructure investment of Rs 111 lakh crore during
the period FY 2020-25.

15.Union MSME Minister
Nitin Gadkari has recently launched Bank of Schemes, Ideas, Innovation and
Research portal on MSMEs, through the Video conferencing.The Portal enables the
Centre, State and UT governments to access all related schemes. The portal also
has features to upload Ideas, Innovations & Researches in the sector. The
ideas crowdsourced are evaluated and rated by experts. The portal would be
handled and updated by professionals.

16.The Central Road
Research Institute (CRRI), a New Delhi-based laboratory of the Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has recently launched a mobile
application named ‘Kisan Sabha’ to connect farmers to supply chain, amidst the
nation-wide lockdown.The application aims to provide logistics support to the
farmers so that they can directly connect with the institutional buyers. This
linkage with the freight transportation Management System would minimize
middlemen and increase the profit of farmers.

17.‘Mukhyamantri Yuba
Yogayog Yojana’ is a welfare scheme of the state of Tripura. It was seen in
news as the state’s Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb launched an online portal
scholarships.gov.in as a part of the scheme.Under the scheme, the students who
are in final year in colleges or Universities can apply through the portal and
the state government will provide Rs. 5,000 as a grant for smart phone. More
than 14000 students will be benefitted by this scheme.

18.The Suraksha Store initiative
has been launched by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public
Distribution.The aim of this scheme to educate Kirana store owners across the
country about safety guidelines and sanitation measures to be followed while
running their businesses. Recently the Department of Consumer Affairs has
partnered with tech start-ups Safejob and Seekify to leverage technology in
implementing this scheme.

19.The Union
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar recently launched integration of 117
additional wholesale mandis with the electronic National Agriculture Market
(eNAM) platform.After the integration, the total number of online mandis became
962, across the country against the target of 1000 mandis before May 15. In the
e-NAM platform, distant bidding facility for wholesale produce in APMC mandis
without physical presence of buyer or trader and e-payment facility are
provided.

20.The Prime Minister
of India recently unveiled a special economic package titled “Atma Nirbhar
Bharat Abhiyan” to the tune of Rs. 20 lakh crore. It aims to stimulate the
economic activities of the country, ahead of the 4th phase of the lockdown.The
stimulus package also includes Rs 1.7 lakh crore package of free food grains to
poor and cash to poor women and elderly, that was announced in the month of
March in the name of PM Karib Kalyan Yojana. It also includes the liquidity
measures and interest cuts announced by RBI. The Prime Minister said the
package will focus on land, labour, liquidity and laws.

21.The state
government of Jharkhand has recently launched three welfare programmes
focussing on providing employment to the resident workers and the incoming
migrant laborers. The three schemes have been framed to function together with
the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.Birsa Harit Gram
Yojna aims for afforestation of over two lakh acres of unused government fallow
land, Neelambar Pitambar Jal Sammridhi Yojana aims to create agro-water storage
units, and Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana aims for developing sports grounds across
the state.

22.The state
government of Himachal Pradesh announced that it will launch an initiative
called ‘Nigah’, that aims to impart awareness among the family members of
people coming to the state from other parts of the country.The health care
workers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers would be deployed in this scheme, to create
awareness in maintain social distancing and hygiene during the home quarantine
period. The houses of the persons returned would be labelled and members of
Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies are asked to ensure proper
implementation of the scheme.

23.Pradhan Mantri
Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJK) which functions under the Union Ministry
of Chemicals and Fertilizers have started accepting the orders for medicines on
WhatsApp and e-mail. The prescriptions uploaded online are delivered at the
doorsteps of the users.Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP)
was launched with an aim of providing quality generic medicines to the people
at affordable rates. At present there are over 6300 PMBJKs operating in 726
districts across the country.

24.Union Health Minister
along with the Union AYUSH Minister launched the clinical research studies on
Ayurveda interventions as an add-on to the standard care in tackling COVID 19.
This will be a joint initiative of Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare and the Ministry of Science & Technology through CSIR.They
also launched the Ayush Sanjivani application developed by the AYUSH Ministry,
with an aim of generating data on acceptance and usage of AYUSH recommend.

for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank recently launched the
Central University of Odisha Helpline ‘Bharosa’, through a virtual platform in
New Delhi.The helpline has been launched with an aim of assisting the student

the students of the University.

26.The Khadi and
Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory organization under the
Ministry of MSME is the implementing agency of ‘Prime Minister Employment
Generation Programme (PMEGP).After the Prime Minister announced to support the
local products, KVIC announced a set of guidelines to fast-track the
implementation of projects under the flagship program PMEGP. The concerned
agencies will have to scrutinize the applications and forward it to banks
within 26 days. It was also instructed to bring down the time frame to 15 days.

27.As a part of the
economic stimulus package, the Union Finance Minister launched an initiative
called ‘Manodarpan’, which aims to provide psychosocial support to students,
teachers and families, at the backdrop of the global pandemic, the time when
students, teachers and their families need support for their mental
well-being.The initiative is proposed to be launched through a website, a
toll-free helpline through a national directory of counsellors. In another
step, top 100 universities are allowed to start online courses and online
component in conventional Universities and programmes will also be raised from
present 20% to 40%.

28.The Chief Minister
of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath recently launched “Uttar Pradesh Start-up
Fund” by partnering with the Small Industries Development Bank of India
(SIDBI).The state had earlier signed a MoU with SIDBI to speed-up the formation
of start-ups in the state. He also handed over the first instalment of Rs 15 crore
to SIDBI. The migrant workers will be provided jobs based on their skills and
youths of the states will be encouraged to form start-ups.

29.The Chief Minister
of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan has announced that Kerala Fibre Optic Network
(K-FON) project would be launched by December 2020.The objective of the Rs
1,500 crore scheme is to provide free internet access to the poor and at
affordable rates to others. It is being implemented by Kerala State IT
Infrastructure Limited and Kerala State Electricity Board. Using the KSEB
posts, optical fibre cables are being laid across the state.

30.Union Minister for Electronics
and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad has launched three major schemes to boost
manufacture of electronics in the country.Production Linked Incentive Scheme
(PLI) aims for large-scale electronics manufacturing. Other two schemes namely
Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and
Semiconductors (SPECS) and Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC
2.0) Scheme were also launched. This will generate manufacturing of electronics
components worth Rs 10 lakh crore by 2025.

31.Chief Minister of
Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has recently launched ‘Delhi Corona’ app for real-time
information on availability of hospital beds.The dedicated application would
display the availability of beds at both private and government hospitals in
the city, available at any particular time. Moreover, the app will also provide
redressal of complaints related to refusal of hospitals in admitting COVID-19
positive patients.

32.The Ministry of
Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and
the Ministry of External Affairs have jointly launched a new initiative named
SWADES.SWADES stands for Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment
Support. Since many Indian citizens are returning under Vande Bharat Mission,
this scheme aims to conduct a skill mapping exercise of the qualified people.
The information will be shared with the companies for suitable job
opportunities in the country.

33.Allocation of Rs.
1,01,500 crore has been made under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment
Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in the current financial year 2020-2021.This is the
highest ever provision of funds under the programme. Out of the allocated fund,
a sum of Rs. 31,493 crore has already been released in 2020-2021, which is more
than 50% of the budget estimate of the current financial year.

34.The Chief Minister
of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched a scheme called
“Mukhyamantri Shahri Path Vyavsayi Utthan Yojana”.The ‘Street Vendor
Registration Portal’ was also launched by the Chief minister. Rs 300 crore was
transferred to urban local bodies for implementing the scheme. Earlier, the
state provided Rs 1,555 crore to 22,800 Gram Panchayats for the purpose of
revamping the development in the state.

35.The state
government of Haryana has announced that it would construct 1,000 water
recharge bores in underground water deficient areas of the state.The programme
seeks to recharge underground water with rainfall. Announcing this programme,
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that 90 percent of the cost of the bore
project will be borne by the government and the remaining 10 percent by the
farmers.

36.The Chief Minister
of Odisha Naveen Patnaik had earlier announced that the state would provide an
incentive of Rs 2000 per migrant after successful completion of quarantine
period.Recently, the proposed incentives have been paid to 1,10,080 people, as
per the Health and Family Welfare Department of the state. For this incentive
disbursal, ₹19.03 crore have been spent from the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has recently launched an Internship programme
named ‘Sahakar Mitra’.The scheme seeks to provide paid internship to youth and
to ensure availability of loans to young co-operators. Each intern will get
financial aid for the 4 months internship period. As a paid intern, the young
professionals get practical exposure from the working of National Cooperative
Development Corporation (NCDC) and co-operatives.

38.TRIFED (Tribal
Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) recently organised a
webinar titled “Van Dhan: Tribal Start-ups Bloom in India”.As per the Managing
Director of TRIFED, the target of TRIFED is to expand the current coverage of
8,000 SHGs to 50,000 Van Dhan SHGs. The number of tribal gatherers is also to
be made three times to 10 lakhs, through the Covid19 relief plan of the Tribal
Affairs Ministry. TRIFED website was commissioned for a trial run.

Minister Narendra Modi is to launch a Rs 50,000 crore employment scheme named
‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan’ from a village of Bihar.The scheme aims to
provide income support to migrant workers who returned to their home states
during the coronavirus lockdown. It will primarily focus on six states Bihar,
Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha, where maximum
migrant workers have returned. This scheme aims to provide livelihood for 125
days to 25,000 migrant workers of 116 districts.

42.The state Cabinet of
Uttar Pradesh has recently cleared the new Uttar Pradesh ‘Start-up policy
2020’, to promote start-ups in the state.The policy seeks to establish at least
one incubator in each district and 100 incubators across the state. It also
aims to create an ecosystem in the state to establish 10,000 start-up
companies. The policy will be applicable for the next five years.

43.GOAL is a literacy
and mentorship initiative, that aims to identify leaders and make them train
5,000 youth from tribal communities across the country. It is implemented by
the Tribal Affairs Ministry.The Ministry has hosted a webinar on Going Online
As Leaders (GOAL) Project, to sensitise Members of Parliament from Scheduled
Tribe (ST) Constituencies. Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda and

Pradesh has rolled out an initiative of online registration of crops named
e-Crop.The state’s Revenue and Agriculture Department officials will jointly
register crops online. At village level, village revenue officers and the

set of guidelines on Digital Education through online medium.It is named
‘PRAGYATA’, which includes eight steps of digital learning namely Plan- Review-

teachers, parents, and students on coping with stress during digital learning
and recommended screen time for children.

Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced the Andhra Pradesh Renewable Energy
Export Policy, 2020.The policy aims to attract private investments in
establishing renewable power projects of 120 gigawatts (GWs) in the state. The

implemented by NREDCAP (New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of AP
Limited).

47.The Delhi Cabinet
has approved the doorstep delivery of ration products to eligible beneficiaries
across the Union Territory.As per the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the scheme
will be called ‘Mukhya Mantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojna’. The programme is
expected to be functional in the next six to seven months, after completion of
tenders and other requirements.

support initiative named ‘Manodarpan’.The scheme aims to provide psychosocial
support to students for their mental health and well-being during the COVID-19

part of increasing productivity in education sector.

Abhiyan’ is being organised by the Ministry of Coal. The programme involves all
coal and lignite PSUs of the country to promote largescale plantation near

Shah is set to launch the campaign along with Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi. The
event will take place through video conference to inaugurate planting in as
many as 130 locations across 10 coal and lignite rich states.

50.The state
government of Rajasthan has recently approved the ‘One-stop shop’ scheme, to
fast-track investments and enable recovery of industries amid the Covid-19
pandemic.The new scheme will fast-track all processes in the investment proposals
above ₹10 crore. Over 98 types of clearances will be given under one roof
through the Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP). For implementing the scheme,
the Cabinet approved amendments to the Rajasthan Enterprises Single Window
Enabling and Clearance Act, 2011.
