சுந்தரவனம் உயிர்க்கோளக் காப்பகம் / SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: உலகளவில் பெரும்பரப்பளவில் காணப்படும் சதுப்பு நிலக்காடுகளைக் கொண்ட சுந்தரவனம் 1989ஆம் ஆண்டு உயிர்க்கோளக் காப்பகமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
உலக பாரம்பரிய ஒப்பந்தத்தில் பாரம்பரிய பகுதியாகவும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இதன் பரப்பளவு 9630 ச.கி.மீட்டராகும். உலகளவில் புலிகளுக்கு உறைவிடம் தரும் மிகப்பெரிய சதுப்புநிலகாடுகள் இக்காப்பகத்தில் மட்டும் காணப்படுகிறது.
வங்கப்புலி காப்புப்பகுதி, சுந்தரவனம் தேசியப்பூங்கா, சச்னேகாலி, லோத்தியன் தீவு மற்றும் ஹாலிடே தீவு போனற் மூன்று சரணாலயங்களும் இக்£ப்பகத்தினுள் உள்ளன.
தாவரங்கள்
சுந்தரவனம் உயிர்க்கோளக் காப்பகம் / SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: இதுவரை 120 வகையான பாசிகள், 25 வகையான கண்டல் தாவரங்கள் மற்றும 124 வகையான பூக்குந்தாவரங்கள் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன.
அக்காந்தஸ், கண்டலா, நைப்பா, சோனரேசியா மற்றும் செரியோப்ஸ் போன்ற அரிய மற்றும் அழியும் தருவாயிலுள்ள தாவர இனங்கள் இக்காப்பகத்தினுள் உள்ளன.
விலங்குகள்
சுந்தரவனம் உயிர்க்கோளக் காப்பகம் / SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: விலங்கினங்களைப் பொறுத்தமட்டில் 163 வகைப் பறவைகள், 40 வகை பாலூட்டிகள், 56 வகை ஊர்வன, 165 வகை மீன்கள், 8 வகை இறால்கள், 67 வகை நண்டுகள் மற்றும் 23 வகை மெல்லுடலிகள் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன.
புலி, முதலை, சிறுத்தை, போன்ற விலங்கினங்கள் காணப்படுகின்றன.
அச்சுறுத்தல்கள்
சுந்தரவனம் உயிர்க்கோளக் காப்பகம் / SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: வனப்பொருட்களைச் சார்ந்த மக்கள் பலர், இக்காப்பகத்தினுள் வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றனர். அதிகப்படியான மீன் பிடிப்பு, இறால் பண்ணைகள் மற்றும் காடழிப்பு போன்றவை பெரும் அச்சுறுத்தல்களாக விளங்குகின்றன.
ENGLISH
SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: In 1989, the Sundarbans were declared a Biosphere Reserve with the largest number of swamp forests in the world. It has also been declared a heritage site in the World Heritage Convention.
Its area is 9630 sq. km. The reserve is home to the largest mangroves that provide habitat for tigers in the world.
Three sanctuaries namely Bengal Tiger Reserve, Sundaravan National Park, Sachnekali, Lothian Island and Holiday Island are included in this site.
Plants
SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: So far 120 species of algae, 25 species of continental plants and 124 species of orchids have been identified.
The reserve contains rare and endangered plant species such as Acanthus, Kandala, Naippa, Sonaresia and Ceriops.
Animals
SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: In terms of fauna, 163 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, 56 species of reptiles, 165 species of fish, 8 species of shrimps, 67 species of crabs and 23 species of ruminants have been identified. Animals such as tiger, crocodile, leopard etc. are seen.
Threats
SUNDARAVANAM BIOSPHERE RESERVE: Many forest dependent people live within this reserve. Overfishing, shrimp farms and deforestation are major threats.
