Supreme Court Sets Up High-Level Committee to Investigate Incidents of Violence at Jantar Mantar and Outside Delhi
- The Supreme Court has constituted a high-level empowered committee to investigate all aspects of the incidents of violence that took place at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and at certain locations outside Delhi in July 2026.
- A website https://hpec.nic.in has been launched for the convenience of the affected police personnel and members of the public. The committee will examine all related issues in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order dated 18 August 2026.
- Priority will be given to matters concerning the use of pellet guns, violence against women, and the harm suffered by both sides.
