Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan releases first installment of ₹25,863 crore to states for VP-G-RAM-G scheme
- Union Minister for Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, reviewed the implementation of the 'VP-G-RAM-G' scheme—a rural employment guarantee and livelihood mission for a developed India—via video conference today (July 4, 2026) with Rural Development Ministers from all states and Union Territories.
- During the meeting, he released the first installment of ₹25,863 crore to the states for the implementation of the scheme.
- Addressing the meeting, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the government's decision to implement the VP-G-RAM-G scheme nationwide without any disruption, effective from July 1, 2026.
- A spacecraft is a specialized, pressurized vehicle designed to house astronauts during launch, spaceflight, and splashdown (landing in the sea). Meanwhile, ISRO announced on Saturday that it is developing a solid-motor-based 'Sub-orbital Test Vehicle' to conduct experiments.
- This is a specialized test rocket capable of facilitating numerous experiments under various conditions. During these tests, the spacecraft will be separated from the vehicle at an altitude of 10 to 17 km.
- ISRO further stated that approximately 10 parachutes were utilized during the test conducted on July 3 at the ISRO center in Sriharikota. These parachutes play a crucial role in decelerating the spacecraft as it descends for a splashdown in the sea.
- ICMR-MINDS (Management Information System for National Health Research Priorities)—a flagship initiative of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)—has won the gold medal in the awards presented by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
- ICMR secured the gold medal in Category 2 'Innovation by using Artificial Intelligence and other modern technologies for citizen-centric service delivery' at the National Awards for e-Governance.
