Chief Minister Vijay lays the foundation stone for an Adidas non-leather footwear factory worth Rs. 850 crores
- Chief Minister Joseph Vijay laid the foundation stone via video conference for Evervan Kothari Footwear Private Limited's non-leather footwear factory in Karur district. This project, involving an investment of Rs. 850 crore, aims to establish a second-phase manufacturing plant for the world-renowned brand Adidas and will provide employment opportunities for 6,750 people.
- This initiative will not only strengthen Tamil Nadu's position in the global footwear manufacturing sector but also foster industrial growth and exports in the district, while creating significant employment opportunities—particularly for women.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook an official visit to Australia, where he received an enthusiastic welcome from the Australian government. Leaders from both nations reviewed the significant progress achieved across all aspects of their bilateral relationship.
- They also discussed ways to further deepen cooperation in priority sectors, including trade, investment, defense, critical minerals, cyberspace, emerging technologies, space, nuclear energy, clean energy, education, and people-to-people ties.
- Subsequently, several key agreements were signed between the two countries.
