Chief Minister S. Joseph Vijay Inaugurates 300 New Bus Services
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister S. Joseph Vijay today inaugurated the service of 300 new buses for public use at the Secretariat. Procured by the Transport Department at a cost of ₹127.21 crore for the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations, these buses were flagged off by the Chief Minister.
- To further strengthen public transport services, the Chief Minister flagged off a total of 300 new buses allocated as follows: 65 buses to the Metropolitan Transport Corporation; 36 to the Villupuram Division; 39 to the Salem Division; 25 to the Coimbatore Division; 49 to the Kumbakonam Division; 42 to the Madurai Division; and 44 to the Tirunelveli Division of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation.
- The fleet comprises 164 diesel buses and 136 eco-friendly CNG buses that are BS-VI compliant and feature low emission levels.
