- On the sidelines of the G7 summit held at the Palace of Versailles in France, US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a historic memorandum of understanding aimed at halting hostilities and resuming negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program.
- Under this interim agreement, which has come into immediate effect, Iran has agreed to significantly reduce its enriched uranium stockpiles.
- In return, Washington has eased certain harsh economic sanctions imposed on Iran, thereby allowing the country to freely sell its crude oil in the international market without restrictions.
- Furthermore, the United States has agreed to provide at least $300 billion in financial aid for the reconstruction of war-torn Iran and to return Iran's frozen assets.
