India, Brazil sign MoU to strengthen cooperation in postal sector
- India and Brazil have signed a MoU to enhance cooperation in the postal sector. This is a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral cooperation in postal services.
- The MoU was signed by Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Jyotiraditya M Scindia, and Brazilian Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Frederico de Sequeira Bilho, during the visit of Brazilian President Mr. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to India.
- The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the Indian Department of Posts and the Brazilian Ministry of Communications. It aims to enhance cooperation and knowledge exchange in the postal sector.
- This MoU will enhance cooperation in the fields of postal policies, best practices in operations, exchange of expertise, strengthening of service systems
- Postal financial services cooperation, capacity building, training, technology transfers, joint initiatives of mutual interest, enhanced coordination in global multilateral fora related to postal matters, and enhanced coordination in postal related global forums.
- This MoU reflects the commitment of India and Brazil to work together in modernizing postal systems and using postal infrastructure for economic growth and inclusion.
