CM M.K.Stalin inaugurated International Vallalar Conference
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin inaugurated the International Vallalar Conference organized by the Hindu Religious and Endowments Department at the Ekambaranathar Temple Grounds in Kilpauk, Chennai today (15.02.2026).
- Following this, the Thiruvottriyur Highway was named 'Vallalar Highway' and a nameplate was unveiled by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated
- The foundation stone of the Noyyal Museum, to be built on an area of 5.98 acres at a cost of Rs. 33.19 crore in Chellipalayam village, Karumandi, Perundurai taluk, Erode district, was laid by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
- The foundation stone of the Navai Museum, to be built on an area of about 5 acres at a cost of Rs. 34.55 crore in Mandapam area, Ramanathapuram district, was laid by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
- The book "Rock Art of Tamil Nadu" written by Professor K. Rajan and Dr. R. Sivanandham of the Government Archaeological Department of Tamil Nadu was released by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin.
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone of the Great Chola Museum, which will be set up at the Thanjavur - Tamil University campus by the Museum Department on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Charities at a cost of Rs. 56.41 crore.
- In this great Chola Museum, separate exhibition halls will be set up on the topics of culture and historical importance, Cholas of the Sangam period, support given to religions, administration and governance, architectural excellence, urban planning, water management, land management, art and culture (Copper images and stone sculptures of the Chola period), social life, economy, literature, overseas trade, foreign invasions, naval strength and military prowess.
- The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, yesterday approved the launch of the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) with a total Central Assistance (CA) of Rs. One lakh crore.
- CA will cover 25% of the project cost, subject to raising minimum 50% of the project cost from market. This will lead to a total investment of Rs. Four lakh crore in urban sector in next five years, marking a paradigm shift in India’s urban development approach from grant- based financing to market-linked, reform-driven and outcome-oriented infrastructure creation.
- The Urban Challenge Fund will leverage market finance, private participation and citizen- centric reforms for delivery of high-quality urban infrastructure. The Fund aims to build resilient, productive, inclusive and climate-responsive cities, positioning those as key driver of the country’s next phase of economic growth.
- The Fund will be operational from FY 2025–26 to FY 2030–31, with an extendable implementation period up to FY 2033–34. It gives effect to the Government’s vision announced in Budget 2025–26 to implement proposals relating to Cities as Growth Hubs, Creative Redevelopment of Cities, and Water and Sanitation.
- The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today yesterday the Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) of Noida Metro Rail Project with corridor for a length of 11.56 Km with 8 elevated stations. On operationalization of this corridor, Noida and Greater Noida city will have 61.62 Km of active Metro Rail Network.
- The Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) of Noida Metro Rail Project represents a significant advancement in the city’s infrastructure development. This project acts as a major expansion of the Metro Rail Network in the city.
- The Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) of the Noida Metro project will introduce approximately 11.56 Km of new metro lines, significantly improving public transportation in the Noida city, which currently lack efficient connectivity and also it will also provide direct connectivity with high demand corridors, including interchange at Botanical Garden (Blue Line) and Magenta Line.
