India and Germany signed a joint declaration on increasing cooperation in the telecommunications sector
- German Chancellor Mr. Friedrich Merz undertook a state visit to India on January 12 and 13, 2026. During this visit, India and Germany signed a joint declaration on telecommunications cooperation.
- The joint declaration was signed by Mr. Amit Agarwal, Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications, on behalf of the Government of India, and Dr. Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India, on behalf of the German Government.
