• தூயமல்லி அரிசி, கவுந்தபாடி நாட்டுச் சர்க்கரைக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு / GI FOR THOOYAMALLI RICE AND KAVUNDAPADI SUGAR: தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கே உரித்தான தூயமல்லி அரிசி மற்றும் கவுந்தபாடி நாட்டுச் சர்க்கரை வேளாண் விளைபொருட்களுக்கு தனித்துவ புவிசார் குறியீடு பெறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• புவிசார் குறியீடு (Geographical Indication) என்பது ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட புவியியல் இருப்பிடத்திலிருந்து உருவாகும் ஒரு பொருளில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் ஒரு அடையாளமாகும். அப்பொருள்கள் அவற்றின் உருவாகும் இடத்தின் சிறப்பு குணங்களைக் கொண்டதாக இருக்கும். உலகின்‌ வெவ்வேறு பகுதிகளில்‌ பல்வேறு வேளாண் பொருள்கள்‌ உற்பத்தி செய்யப்பட்டாலும்‌, குறிப்பிட்ட இடத்தில்‌ / பகுதியில்‌ உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படும்‌, பொருட்கள்‌ அவை உருவாகும் இடத்தின் காரணமாக அவற்றின் சுவை, தரம்‌ போன்ற சிறப்பு குணங்களைக் கொண்டு இயற்கையில்‌ தனித்துவமானதாக விளங்குகின்றன.
• இத்தகைய தனித்துவமான குணங்கள் காரணமாக அவை சர்வதேச மற்றும் தேசிய அளவில் பெரும் நற்பெயரைப் பெற்றுள்ளன. வேளாண் பொருள்கள், உணவு பொருள்கள், கைவினைப் பொருள்கள், பிற தயாரிப்பு பொருள்கள், இயற்கை பொருள்கள்என பல்வேறு வகைகளுக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு (GI) வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
• வேளாண் உற்பத்தியினை உயர்த்துவதோடு, வேளாண் பொருட்களின் மதிப்பினை உயர்த்தி, உரிய சந்தைகளுக்கு எடுத்துச்சென்று உழவர்கள் கூடுதல் விலைபெற்று அவர்களின் நலன் காக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கில் திட்டங்கள் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.
• இந்த நிலையில், தமிழ்நாட்டில் தனித்துவம் கொண்ட வேளாண் பொருள்களைக் கண்டறிந்து அவற்றிற்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு பெறும் பொருட்டு, 2021-22 ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் வேளாண்மை நிதிநிலை அறிக்கையில் அறிவிப்பு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு, வேளாண்மை விற்பனை மற்றும் வேளாண் வணிகத்துறை மூலம் புவிசார் குறியீடு (GI) பெற உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
• அதன்படி, இவ்வரசு பொறுப்பேற்றதிலிருந்து சோழவந்தான் வெற்றிலை, பண்ருட்டி பலாப்பழம், பண்ருட்டி முந்திரி, விருதுநகர் சம்பா வத்தல், இராமநாதபுரம் சித்திரைக்கார் அரிசி, புளியங்குடி எலுமிச்சை, செட்டிக்குளம் சின்ன வெங்காயம், சேலம் 2 கண்ணாடி கத்திரி, தூயமல்லி அரிசி, கவுந்தபாடி நாட்டுச்சர்க்கரை, அரசம்பட்டி தென்னை, கிருஷ்ணகிரி பன்னீர் ரோஜா, பேராவூரணி தென்னை, மூலனூர் குட்டை முருங்கை, சாத்தூர் வெள்ளரி, வீரமாங்குடி அச்சுவெல்லம், விளாத்திகுளம் மிளகாய், கோட்டிமுளை கத்திரி, மதுரை செங்கரும்பு, கருப்பு கவுனி அரிசி, ஆண்டார்குளம் கத்திரி, விருதுநகர் அதலைக்காய், திண்டிவனம் பனிப்பயறு, சேங்கல் துவரை, ஜவ்வாதுமலை சாமை, சத்தியமங்கலம் செவ்வாழை, கொல்லி மலை மிளகு, மீனம்பூர் சீரக சம்பா, அய்யம்பாளையம் நெட்டை தென்னை, செஞ்சோளம், புவனகிரி மிதி பாகற்காய், உரிகம்புளி, திருநெல்வேலி அவுரி இலை, ஓடைப்பட்டி விதையில்லா திராட்சை, செங்காந்தள் (கண்வலி) விதை, நல்லூர் வரகு, வேதாரண்யம் முல்லை, நத்தம் புளி, ஆயக்குடி கொய்யா, கப்பல்பட்டி கரும்பு முருங்கை மற்றும் பொள்ளாச்சி ஜாதிக்காய் ஆகிய 41 வேளாண் பொருள்களுக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு (GI) பெற தமிழ்நாடு மாநில வேளாண்மை விற்பனை வாரியம் மூலம் விண்ணப்பிக்கப்பட்டது.
• இதுவரை, சோழவந்தான் வெற்றிலை, பண்ருட்டி பலாப்பழம், பண்ருட்டி முந்திரி, விருதுநகர் சம்பாவத்தல், இராமநாதபுரம் சித்திரைக்கார் அரிசி, புளியங்குடி எலுமிச்சை, செட்டிக்குளம் சின்ன வெங்காயம், தூயமல்லி, மற்றும் கவுந்தம்பாடி நாட்டு சர்க்கரை ஆகிய 9 வேளாண் பொருள்களுக்கு இதுவரை புவிசார் குறியீடு இவ்வரசால் பெறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• புவிசார் குறியீடு பெறப்பட்ட வேளாண் பொருட்களை‌ சந்தைப்படுத்துதல்‌ எளிதாக்கப்படுவதுடன்‌ அவற்றின்‌ தேவை மற்றும்‌ ஏற்றுமதி அளவும் அதிகரித்து, வேளாண் வணிகம் விரிவுபடுத்தப்படுவதுடன், பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சியில் மேம்பாடு அடையவும் வழிவகுக்கும்.

• GI FOR THOOYAMALLI RICE AND KAVUNDAPADI SUGAR: The agricultural products of Tamil Nadu, Thooyamalli rice and Kaundhapadi nadu sugar, have been granted a unique geographical indication.
• A Geographical Indication is an indication used on a product originating from a specific geographical location. These products have the special qualities of their place of origin. Although various agricultural products are produced in different parts of the world, the products produced in a particular place/region are unique in nature due to their special qualities such as taste and quality due to the place where they are produced.
• Due to such unique qualities, they have gained great reputation at the international and national levels. Geographical Indication (GI) is given to various categories such as agricultural products, food products, handicrafts, other manufactured products, and natural products.
• In addition to increasing agricultural production, projects are being implemented with the aim of increasing the value of agricultural products and taking them to the appropriate markets so that farmers can get additional prices and protect their welfare.
• In this situation, in order to identify unique agricultural products in Tamil Nadu and obtain Geographical Indication (GI) for them, an announcement has been made in the Agriculture Budget every year from 2021-22, and appropriate steps are being taken to obtain Geographical Indication (GI) through the Department of Agriculture Sales and Agribusiness.
• Accordingly, since this government took office, Cholavandhan betel, Panrutti jackfruit, Panrutti cashew, Virudhunagar samba vattal, Ramanathapuram chithiraikkar rice, Puliyangudi lemon, Chettikulam small onion, Salem 2 glass eggplant, Thuyamalli rice, Kaundhapadi nattu sugar, Arasampatti coconut, Krishnagiri panneer rose, Peravoorani coconut, Moolanur short drumstick, Sattur cucumber, Veeramangudi achuvellam, Vilathikulam chilli, Kottimulai eggplant, Madurai red sorghum, black kavuni rice, Andarkulam eggplant, Virudhunagar adhalai kai, Tindivanam snow peas, Sengal tuvari, Jawvadumalai samai, Sathyamangalam red banana, Kolli mountain pepper, Meenampur cumin samba, Ayyampalayam long coconut, Applications have been made through the Tamil Nadu State Agricultural Marketing Board to obtain Geographical Indication (GI) for 41 agricultural products, namely Sencholam, Bhuvanagiri Mithi Gourd, Urigampuli, Tirunelveli Auri Leaf, Odaipatti Seedless Grape, Senganthal (Kanvali) Seed, Nallur Varagu, Vedaranyam Mullai, Natham Tamarind, Ayakudi Guava, Kapalapatti Sugarcane and Pollachi Nut.
• So far, GI has been obtained by the government for 9 agricultural products, namely Cholavandhan Betel, Panruti Jackfruit, Panruti Cashew, Virudhunagar Sambavattal, Ramanathapuram Chithiraikkar Rice, Puliyangudi Lemon, Chettikulam Small Onion, Thuyamalli, and Kavundhampadi Country Sugar.
• The marketing of agricultural products with GIs will be facilitated, increasing their demand and export volume, expanding agribusiness and leading to improved economic growth.
