Veeramangai Velunachiyar Flyover - CM M.K. Stalin inaugurated
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the new flyover built at a cost of Rs. 150.28 crore at Melamadai Junction in Madurai for public use. The new high-level flyover has been named 'Veeramangai Velunachiyar Flyover'.
- The bridge starts from the Anna Bus Stand Junction on Madurai Thondi Road, joins the Madurai Ring Road via Aavin Junction, Melamadai Junction and ends at Poovanthi in Sivaganga district.
- Vietnam-based Winfast, the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, had signed an agreement at an investor conference held last year to manufacture electric cars in Thoothukudi at a cost of Rs. 16,000 crore.
- Following this, the Tamil Nadu government allotted 408 acres of land in the Sipcot area of Silladhattam, Thoothukudi. The company is manufacturing Vinfast VF6 and VF7 cars in the plant set up here.
- In this context, it had decided to further expand this plant and manufacture electric scooters and electric buses. A memorandum of understanding for this has been signed with the Tamil Nadu government in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
- The Tamil Nadu government will allocate 500 acres of land adjacent to the existing plant for the expansion and will also provide permissions for infrastructure including power connection, water supply, and road facilities. Vinfast is investing Rs. 4,498 crore for the expansion of the above plant.
- He inaugurated the investor conference titled Tamil Nadu is growing at the IDA Scooter Hall in the Velammal Hospital complex near Viraganur roundabout. In Madurai, 91 MoUs worth Rs. 36,660.35 crore were signed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the investors' conference being held today (Dec. 7) under the theme 'Tamil Nadu is Growing', providing employment to 56,766 people.
