India's GDP grows by 8.2% in Q2 of 2025-26
- The Indian economy has seen tremendous growth in the September quarter. India's GDP grew by 8.2% in the second quarter of 2025-26. This is much higher than last year and the previous quarter.
- This growth has been achieved despite challenges such as US tariffs, which is a major achievement. The figures released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) show a strong contribution from the manufacturing, construction and services sectors.
- India's GDP at constant prices during the aforementioned period was Rs. 48.63 lakh crore. It was Rs. 44.94 lakh crore in the same period last year. Nominal GDP grew by 8.7% to Rs. 85.25 lakh crore.
- The world has recognized the fair and transparent conduct of elections in India. In this context, for the first time in the last 30 years, 37 democratic countries have invited India to take over the chairmanship of the 'International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA)'.
- "This is a proud moment for all Indians, as well as for election officials," he said. India's Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will take over at a ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden on Dec. 3.
