PM Modi flags off 4 Vande Bharat Express trains including Ernakulam-Bengaluru
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains including Ernakulam-Bengaluru from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The new Vande Bharat Express trains will run on the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes.
- Apart from the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express, he also flagged off the Ferozpur-Delhi, Lucknow-Saharanpur and Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express services. With these four new trains, the total number of Vande Bharat trains running in the country has now crossed 160.
- The Ministry of Defence has signed a Rs 62,370 crore deal with HAL to procure 97 Tejas Mk-1A light combat aircraft for the Indian Air Force. The Tejas fighter aircraft is capable of performing various functions including air defence and attack, maritime surveillance.
- Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) on Friday signed a deal with US-based GE Aerospace to procure 113 jet engines for Tejas light combat aircraft. The deal comes at a time when the US has imposed a 50 percent import duty on Indian goods.
