Vivek Chaturvedi appointed as CBIC Chairman
- The central government has appointed Vivek Chaturvedi, an Indian Revenue Service officer, as the Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs. He will succeed Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, who retired on November 28, 2025.
- Chaturvedi, a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), is currently a member of the CBIC Board.
- Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Vivek Chaturvedi, a member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, as the Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, a Department of Personnel and Training order said.
