CM Stalin inaugurates Tamil Nadu's longest flyover
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the 10.1 km flyover built on the Coimbatore Avinashi Road on Thursday. This bridge, which is the longest flyover in Tamil Nadu, has been named after G.D. Naidu.
- Following this, Chief Minister Stalin walked a short distance on the newly opened flyover and then traveled in his vehicle.
- The 10.10 km long four-lane flyover from Uppilipalayam to Goldwins on the Coimbatore - Avinashi Road has been constructed by the Tamil Nadu Highways and Minor Ports Department at a cost of Rs. 1,791 crore.
- The two-day World Innovation Conference organized by the Tamil Nadu Innovation and Innovation Movement (Startup Tamil Nadu), which operates under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, began today (October 9) at the Kodisia campus in Coimbatore.
- It was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also released the Startup Eco System and Startup Vision 2035. Chief Minister Stalin also provided letters of approval for business investment for various companies and entrepreneurs including the differently-abled.
- Memorandums of Understanding were exchanged with foreign companies in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. More than 350 participants from more than 40 countries participated in the event. Leading startups across India, 10 Union Government departments, 10 State Government departments and 15 departments working with startups in Tamil Nadu have participated.
- The Central Government has released Rs. 680.71 crore as the first installment of basic grants under the 15th Finance Commission for rural local bodies and Panchayat Raj Institutions in the state of West Bengal for the financial year 2025-26.
- The amount was released on October 06, 2025 to 3224 eligible Gram Panchayats, 335 Block Panchayats and 21 District Panchayats of the state. In the last financial year 2024-25 and the current financial year 2025-26, out of the total recommended amount of Rs. 4181.23 crore, Rs. 2082.13 crore has been released as basic grant.
- The Central Government has released the grant amount of the 15th Finance Commission for the current financial year (2025-26) to the Rural Local Bodies in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
- The first installment of the Central Grant Amount is Rs. 410.76 crore. All 13 district panchayats, 650 eligible panchayat blocks and 13,092 eligible rural panchayat bodies out of the total 13,327 rural panchayat bodies in the state will benefit from this grant.
- This grant from the central government will be used for the specific needs of rural local bodies and panchayat raj bodies, i.e. under the 29 schemes mentioned in the 11th schedule of the Constitution. This does not include salaries and other expenses of employees.
- The grant will be spent on basic human services such as maintaining open defecation-free conditions and sanitation, treatment and management of household waste, rainwater harvesting, water recycling, and drinking water supply.
- There has been a war between Israel and Hamas, which controls Gaza, for 2 years. In this context, US President Trump has been trying to end this war. In this context, he recently proposed a 20-point peace plan. While Israel accepted the plan, Hamas rejected it and asked for some amendments. However, Trump warned that the plan should be accepted.
- In this context, for the past 2 days, negotiations have been held between Israel and Hamas in the presence of representatives of key countries including the United States and Qatar.
- Following this, Trump announced today that Hamas has also accepted his plan and that the first phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will be signed.
