Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah approves advance release of 2nd instalment of Central share of State Disaster Relief Fund to Karnataka and Maharashtra
  • Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has approved advance release of Rs. 1,950.80 crore as the 2nd instalment of the Central share of the State Disaster Relief Fund for the year 2025-26. 
  • Out of the total amount of Rs. 1,950.80 crore, Rs. 384.40 crore has been approved for Karnataka and Rs. 1,566.40 crore for Maharashtra to help these states provide immediate relief assistance to the people affected by the extremely heavy rains and floods during the southwest monsoon this year.
  • Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Central Government is fully committed to provide all possible assistance to the states affected by floods, landslides and cloudbursts.
  • This year, the Central Government has already released Rs. 13,603.20 crore to 27 States under State Disaster Relief Fund and Rs. 2,189.28 crore to 15 States under National Disaster Relief Fund. 
  • In addition, Rs. 4,571.30 crore has been released from State Disaster Mitigation Fund to 21 States and Rs. 372.09 crore from National Disaster Mitigation Fund.
  • The Central Government has provided all necessary logistical assistance including National Disaster Response Teams, Army teams and Air Force support to all the States affected by floods, landslides, cloudbursts, etc. During the monsoon season this year, a maximum of 199 teams were deployed in 30 States/Union Territories for rescue and relief operations.
