India continues to lead the world in milk production
  • India continues to lead the world in milk production, contributing about a quarter of the global supply. Milk production in India is currently the largest agricultural product and contributes 5 percent to the country's economy. It provides direct employment to over 8 crore farmers.
  • Milk production has increased by 63.56 percent in 10 years, from 146.3 million tonnes to 239.30 million tonnes. Per capita milk supply increased by 48 percent and was 471 grams per day in 2023-24. This is higher than the global average of 322 grams per day. A total of 565.55 lakh artificial inseminations were carried out across the country in 2024-25.
  • Milk is the heart of nutritional security. It provides quality protein and essential nutrients. It is considered a complete food and provides proteins and vitamins. Milk plays an important role in healthy development. This is especially necessary for childhood.
  • The cooperative dairy sector in India is extensive and well-organized. In 2025, there were 22 dairy federations, 241 district cooperative unions, 28 dairy markets and 25 milk producers' associations.
  • There are 1.72 crore dairy farmers in 2.35 lakh villages as members. About 70 percent of dairy farm workers and 35 percent of dairy cooperatives are women. More than 48 thousand women-led dairy cooperatives are functioning at the village level across the country.

  • Similarly, Abhishek Sharma won the Man of the Series award and Kuldeep Yadav won the Most Valuable Player of the Series award. Furthermore, Abhishek Sharma won the award for the highest run-scorer, Kuldeep Yadav won the award for the highest wicket-taker, and Abhishek Sharma again won the award for the highest number of sixes.
  • It is noteworthy that after the final, India refused to accept the trophy and medals from Mohsin Naqvi, the president of the Asian Cricket Council, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, and the interior minister of Pakistan.
