Chief Minister Stalin launches Chennai Water Supply App
- Chief Minister Stalin launched a project to provide an additional 265 million litres of drinking water per day to Chennai from the Chembarambakkam Water Treatment Plant.
- He also launched a new mobile app called 'Chennai Water Supply App' for the use of the public to quickly address the grievances and complaints of the public related to drinking water. This app has been designed by the Chennai Water Supply Board.
- “In order to discover and study the antiquity of the ancient Tamil civilization at “Poompukar” in the present-day Mayiladuthurai district, now called Kaveripoompattinam, which was a major sea trade port mentioned in the Muvendar period, Sangam literature, and post-Sangam epics, research work has been started on behalf of the Department of Archaeology of Tamil Nadu with the help of the Indian Maritime University.
- This work of conducting underwater research has been started by a team of experts including Sivanandham, Joint Director of the Department of Archaeology, under the leadership of Professor K. Rajan.
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today (20.09.2025) in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, inaugurated development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore and laid the foundation stone of new projects. Addressing an event called 'Samudra Se Samridhi', the Prime Minister highlighted the service drive being held across the country from September 17 to October 2.
- He mentioned that many service-related activities have been carried out in Gujarat in the last few days. The Prime Minister said that blood donation camps have been organized at hundreds of places and so far one lakh people have donated blood.
- To help various sectors in Gujarat, he launched several Central and State Government schemes worth over ₹26,354 crore and laid the foundation stone of new projects.
- He inaugurated the HP LNG recycling terminal at Sara Port, a new project at the Gujarat IOCL refinery, a 600 MW Green Front initiative, a 475 MW solar power project under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana for farmers, a 45 MW Pateli Solar Power Project, and the complete solar power generation of Thordo village.
- He laid the foundation stones for projects in the fields of energy, coastal defence, highways, healthcare and urban transport, including expansions at the General Hospital in Bhavnagar and the Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital in Jamnagar.
- He also inspected the progress of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NHMC) being developed at Lothal at a cost of about ₹4,500 crore.
- The first edition of the bilateral maritime exercise between the Indian Navy and the Hellenic (Greece) Navy concluded on 18 September 2025 in the Mediterranean Sea. It marked a milestone in the growing defence cooperation between India and Greece.
- The exercise was conducted in two phases. The port phase was held at the Salamis Naval Base from 13 to 17 September 2025. This was followed by the maritime phase on 17 and 18 September 2025.
- The Indian naval ship INS Trikant participated in the exercise. During the port phase, personnel from both navies engaged in various activities aimed at fostering mutual understanding. The maritime phase involved exercises on complex maritime strategies.
- On the recommendation of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award Selection Committee, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced this evening (September 20) that the Government of India will confer the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award on Mohanlal.
- The 65-year-old Mohanlal has received various awards in the film industry. The year 1986 can be considered a golden period in Mohanlal's film career. It is no exaggeration to say that he acted in 34 films in that one year alone.
- He is a record holder who has brought life to the screenplay with his unique acting in more than 350 films not only in Malayalam but also in many languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
- The realistic acting skills he showed in the 1989 release of Keereetam, followed by Bharatham (1991) and Vanaprastham (1999) did not fail to win him National Awards. In this situation, Mohanlal will be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2023 at the 71st National Film Awards to be held on September 23.
