Asian Shooting Championship - Indian team wins gold in men's 25m
- The Asian Shooting Championship is underway in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. In the men's 25m centerfire team event, the Indian team consisting of Gurpreet Singh, Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu and Ankur Goyal won the gold medal by scoring 1,733 points.
- Vietnam won the silver medal with 1,720 points and Iran won the bronze medal with 1,700 points. In the women's 50m rifle prone event, India's Manini Kaushik won the bronze medal by finishing third with 617.8 points.
- South Korea's Hana Im won the gold medal with 620.2 points and Eunseo Lee won the silver medal with 620.2 points. The Indian team comprising Manini Kaushik, Surabi Bhardwaj and Vinod Vidasara won the silver medal in the women's 50m rifle prone team event with a score of 1,846 points.
- She won the gold medal at the Commonwealth World Championships held in Ahmedabad today. Mirabai entered the record books by lifting 193 kg in the snatch and clean and jerk on her way to winning gold in the 48 kg category.
- Mirabai, who won double gold at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games, performed well initially after returning to her old category. Mirabai won the gold medal in the 48 kg category at the 2017 World Championships. However, the Manipur athlete won a silver medal in the 49 kg category in Tokyo.
