
Expansion of breakfast scheme in urban schools - CM Stalin inaugurated
- Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the expansion of breakfast scheme in urban government aided schools this morning. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme, which provides breakfast to government school students, on 15.9.2022 by serving breakfast to the students at Adhimoolam Corporation Primary School, Madurai.
- After the scheme received a great response from parents and students, he inaugurated the expansion of the breakfast scheme at the Government Primary School in Thirukuvalai on 25.8.2023.
- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attended the event as the special guest. Following this, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin ate lunch with the school children.
- Chief Minister MK Stalin released the Biodiversity Index of Chennai City on behalf of the Environment, Climate Change and Forest Department at the Chennai Secretariat to strengthen Tamil Nadu's biodiversity conservation efforts.
- This is Tamil Nadu's first city biodiversity index, a guide to integrating biodiversity into city planning, green expansion projects, carbon storage, heat reduction and public health promotion.
- This index has been made possible as a result of several initiatives taken by the Tamil Nadu government such as wetland restoration, Green Tamil Nadu project, Climate Change project, Coastal Protection project etc.
- The Chennai City Biodiversity Index was developed in collaboration with "ICLEI South Asia", "Chennai Corporation" and other organizations.
