79th Independence Day - Chief Minister MK Stalin hoists the national flag

• The 79th Independence Day is being celebrated with great pomp and show across the country today. The Tamil Nadu government has made grand arrangements for Independence Day celebrations at Fort George in Chennai.
• Chief Minister MK Stalin, who will arrive at the Chennai Fort ramparts at 8.45 am today, will take part in the police parade. Police personnel including Special Police Forces, Kerala Special Police Force, and Police Women Commandos will participate in this parade.
• Subsequently, Chief Minister MK Stalin will hoist the tricolor national flag at the Fort ramparts at 9 am and will address the nation. On this heroic Independence Day, I am immensely happy to make nine important announcements.
• The monthly pension currently being provided by the state government to freedom fighters will be increased to Rs. 22,000. The monthly family pension currently being provided by the state government to the families of freedom fighters will be increased to Rs. 12 thousand.
• The monthly special pension being provided to the descendants of Veerapandiya Kattabomman, the descendants of the former Ramanathapuram king Muthuramalinga Vijaya Raghunatha Sethupathi, the descendants of the Sivagangai Marudhu brothers and the descendants of V.O. Chidambaranar will be increased to Rs. 11 thousand.
• The lifetime monthly financial assistance provided to the ex-servicemen from Tamil Nadu who participated in the Second World War will be increased to Rs. 15 thousand. The lifetime monthly financial assistance provided to the widows of the soldiers who participated in the Second World War will be increased to Rs. 8 thousand.
• For the convenience of ex-servicemen from Tamil Nadu, an ex-servicemen's hostel with infrastructure covering an area of 33 thousand square feet will be constructed in Madhavaram, Chennai at an estimated cost of Rs. 22 crore.
• The free morning commute scheme implemented in the hilly areas of Tamil Nadu will be extended to the differently-abled. A training centre will be started at the state level, two training centres at the zonal level and one driving school per district for driving training.
• Ten thousand students of the children of workers registered in the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board will be provided online skill development training in modern technologies at a cost of Rs. 15 crore to improve their skills and get employment while attending colleges. All the above nine announcements will be implemented soon.

79th Independence Day - Prime Minister Modi hoists the national flag at the Red Fort

• The entire country is celebrating Independence Day with enthusiasm today. As part of the country's 79th Independence Day celebrations, Prime Minister Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort.
• Prime Minister Modi said: A big gift awaits the people of the country on Diwali. The GST tax levied on small and micro businesses will be reduced. GST reforms will benefit small and micro enterprises. GST tax will be reduced. A committee has been formed for this.
• GST reduction will improve the financial condition of the poor, women and farmers. A new employment promotion scheme of Rs. 1 lakh crore will be launched for the youth. The new employment promotion scheme will come into effect from today.
• 3.5 crore youth will benefit from the employment promotion scheme. An incentive of Rs. 15 thousand will be given to the youth who join the private sector for the first time. Farmers are achieving world-class achievements in production. 
• There is never any compromise on the welfare of fishermen and farmers. India is first in pulse production. India is second in rice and wheat production. Now the government and schemes are looking for people's homes. Inflation is under control. The Indian economy is strong. Poverty of 25 crore people in India has been eradicated.
• Experts say that one in three people in the country will be affected by obesity. Obesity, which has become a big challenge in India, is worrying. We should be proud of languages. Language development is knowledge development. RSS has completed 100 years in national service. RSS has sacrificed its life for the nation.
• India is working hard on the Gaganyaan mission. We must come together to change the destiny of our country. I appeal to the youth. We all must contribute to move forward in this mission of national transformation. India will not allow intruders to grab the land of tribals. Thus said Prime Minister Modi.
