Electronic payments in India rise by 10.7%

• Electronic payments across the country grew by 10.7% year-on-year, according to the Reserve Bank of India's Digital Payments Index, which measures the adoption of online transactions.
• The Reserve Bank of India has been publishing the Reserve Bank of India's Digital Payments Index since January 1, 2021.
• The index for March 2025 has increased from 465.33 in September 2024 to 493.22 in March 2024, the Reserve Bank said.

Pralay missile successfully test-fired twice

• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test-fired two consecutive tests of the Pralay missile from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island in the Odisha sea on July 28 and 29, 2025.
• The tests were conducted to verify the maximum and minimum range capability of the missile system. The missiles followed their trajectory accurately and hit the target. All the sub-systems functioned successfully as planned.
• Pralay is an indigenously developed solid fuel partial thrust missile. It uses a sophisticated guidance system to ensure high accuracy. The missile is capable of carrying a wide range of weapons against various targets.
