President Draupadi Murmu appoints 4 nominated MPs to Rajya Sabha
- President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday appointed 4 people as nominated MPs to the Rajya Sabha.
- In it, senior lawyer Ujjwal Nigam (BJP), senior lawyer, former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, former teacher Sadanandan Master (BJP) and historian Meenakshi Jain have been announced as nominated MPs.
- The President appoints 12 people who excel in various fields to the Rajya Sabha. There are a total of 245 members in the Rajya Sabha. Of these, 12 members are appointed by the President. It is noteworthy that the remaining members are elected by the members of the state legislatures.
- In the Wimbledon semifinals, Swiatek, ranked 8th in the tournament, easily defeated Switzerland's Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-0 in straight sets.
- With this victory, Swiatek reached the final of Wimbledon for the first time, defeating American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 to win the title. She also became the first Polish player to win a Wimbledon title in the final.
