University named after Karunanidhi in Kumbakonam
- In today's assembly session, various parties came together to bring a resolution to attract attention and speak out for the establishment of a university in the name of former Chief Minister Karunanidhi.
- Accepting this demand, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has issued a notification in this regard. "Karunanidhi is one of the reasons why all colleges and universities in Tamil Nadu have risen in the field of education and are at the top of the country.
- He has announced that a university will soon be established in Kumbakonam, the unified Thanjavur district where he was born, named after Karunanidhi, who has worked hard for the development of education and has created various schemes, and who was a university for all universities."
- On the occasion of National Panchayat Raj Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects worth Rs. 13,480 crore in Madhubani, Bihar today. He laid the foundation stone for a Rs 340 crore project to bottle cooking gas in cylinders at Hatwa in Bihar's Gopalganj district.
- He also laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 1170 crore to increase electricity infrastructure in the region.
- The Prime Minister released the installments of 10 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Rural Housing Scheme across the country and handed over the permission letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries.
- He also handed over the keys of the houses to mark the inauguration of 1 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme.
- The test-fire of a surface-to-air missile conducted by the Indian Navy's warship INS Surat has been reported to have been successful. The missile is said to have a range of about 70 km and is capable of hitting its target.
