Chief Minister M.K. Stalin tabled a resolution on state autonomy in the Tamil Nadu Assembly
- A high-level committee was formed in the Legislative Assembly to protect the legitimate rights of the states and improve relations between the Union and the state governments, and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin tabled a resolution on state autonomy in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under Rule No. 110.
- In this situation where the right of state autonomy is being taken away, it is very important to form a committee to emphasize federal ideas, improve the relations between the Union and the state governments and their policies, and to examine and re-evaluate the provisions of the Constitution of India; existing laws; orders at all levels and recommend appropriate measures to the government.
- A high-level committee will be formed under the chairmanship of former Supreme Court judge Kurian Joseph with retired IAS Ashok Vardhan Reddy and former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Naganathan as members, he announced.
- The annual inflation rate based on the All India Wholesale Price Index (AIP) for March 2025 (over March 2024) is 2.05% (provisional). The positive inflation rate in March 2025 was mainly due to higher prices in food production, other goods production, electricity and textiles.
