- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 3,880 crore in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
- He also laid the foundation stone for the Varanasi Ring Road, the Sarnath-Sarnath flyover, flyovers at the city's Biharipur and Manduwadi junctions, and a highway tunnel worth Rs 980 crore on National Highway 31 at Varanasi International Airport.
- The Prime Minister also inaugurated two 400 KW and one 220 KW power distribution substations worth Rs 1,045 crore and the associated power transmission line projects.
- The Prime Minister presented Geographical Indication Certificates for various local products and products including Tabela, Oviyam, Thandai, Tiranga Parbi.
- The growth rate of the Industrial Production Index for February 2025 is 2.9 percent. It was 5.0 percent in the previous month.
- The growth rates of the three sectors - mining, manufacturing and power - are 1.6 percent, 2.9 percent and 3.6 percent respectively. The production indices of these sectors are 141.9, 148.6 and 194.0 respectively.
- The production rate of industrial enterprises (metals), "steel pipes, lightweight steel bars" has made a significant contribution. The production of vehicles such as motor vehicles, trailers and parts has also seen growth.
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the test flight of the long-range glide bomb 'Gaurav' from SU-30 MKI aircraft between 08 and 10 April 2025. During the tests, the ability to accurately travel up to 100 km towards ground targets on the island was successfully demonstrated.
- The LRGB 'Gaurav' is a 1,000 kg glide bomb. It was designed and developed indigenously by the Ordnance Research and Development Organisation, Imarat Research Centre and the Integrated Test Range.
