Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Kerala Police’s Advanced Cyber Security Operations Centre developed by C-DoT
- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the “Advanced Cyber Security Operations Centre” of the Cyber Wing of the Kerala Police through video conferencing to strengthen cyber security for police organisations and critical infrastructure.
- The Centre for Telematics Development (C-DoT), the premier research and development centre of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, has designed and developed Trinetra, the cyber security operations centre for the Kerala Police.
- C-DoT’s Trinetra solution is an indigenous, integrated cyber security platform powered by artificial intelligence. It is designed to address cyber security of organisations and critical sectors. It has the capabilities of proactively identifying vulnerabilities, detecting anomalies and mitigating crimes.
- The Advanced Cyber Security Operations Centre will focus on securing computers and critical infrastructure at Police Headquarters, City Commissionerates and attached police stations.
- This 24/7 hub will play a key role in cyber threat monitoring, vulnerability identification and ensuring robust data security. This initiative will play a key role in securing the digital infrastructure of the Kerala Police and strengthening cyber security.
- In the post-budget discussion held in Visakhapatnam today, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, and Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Pankaj Choudhary launched a new digital-based credit rating model for MSMEs.
- In the Union Budget 2024-25, it was announced that instead of relying on external ratings to rate MSMEs for lending, public sector banks (PSBs) will develop their own internal capacity rating system.
- Based on the digital platform score of MSMEs in the economy, public sector banks will develop a new credit rating model.
- This credit rating model will be used to assess all loan applications using digitally obtained, verifiable data in the industry ecosystem.
- By using this model, MSMEs will get various benefits. The benefits of online application submission from anywhere, minimal documentation, no need to visit a bank branch, instant policy approval through digital mode, seamless review of loan proposals, straightforward process, and reduced processing time are available.
- The credit assessment model for MSMEs based on digital data is expected to be significantly better than the traditional assessment of creditworthiness based solely on asset or turnover criteria.
- The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has signed a MoU with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
- The MoU was signed during a think tank event held in Srinagar in the presence of Union Minister for Ports and Shipping, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of State for Waterways, Shri Shantanu Thakur.
- The Inland Waterways Transport Authority of India is actively promoting river cruise tourism in India. This agreement with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir aims to further develop river cruise tourism, generate employment, promote economic growth and promote river cruise tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Out of the 111 National Waterways in the country, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has three National Waterways. They are Chenab River Waterway (NW-26), Jhelum River Waterway (NW-49) and Ravi River Waterway (NW-84).
- With a view to promoting river cruise tourism, various cruise routes from Kashmir to Kerala and from Assam to Gujarat were announced in the recently concluded second meeting of the Inland Waterways Development Council (IWDC).
