AFMS and NIMHANS sign MoU for Joint Research and Training
- In a significant move to improve the mental health of the country’s defence personnel, the Armed Forces Medical Services Organisation and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru, have signed a MoU for joint research and training aimed at improving the mental health of the armed forces.
- The MoU was signed by Surgeon Vice Admiral Aarti Sarin, Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services, and Dr. Pratima Murthy, Director, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences.
- The collaboration between the two organisations will focus on strengthening mental health services, providing specialized training to medical personnel, and developing innovative programmes to address mental health issues faced by soldiers, sailors, airmen, their families and their dependents.
