India Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise - Storm III
- The India-Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise, Storm-III, is being held at the Mahajan Firing Range in Rajasthan from 10 to 23 February 2025. Storm is an annual event held alternately by India and Egypt. The last exercise of this event was held in Egypt in January 2024.
- The current exercise includes a 25-member Indian contingent comprising troops from two Special Forces battalions. The Egyptian contingent, comprising 25 personnel from the Special Forces Group and Task Force of the Egyptian Special Forces, is also taking part.
- The objective of the exercise is to enhance military-to-military relations between the two countries through enhanced military-to-military cooperation, interoperability and mutual exchange of special operations.
- The exercise will help both sides share their best practices in military operations. This exercise will also help in building rapport and friendship between the two sides.
- An international summit to discuss the safe use of AI technology for the benefit of the world began in Paris, France today (February 11).
- Prime Minister Modi, who is the co-chair of the summit, attended the event. French President Emmanuel Macron, US Vice President J.D. Vance, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing, among others, are participating in the summit.
- IT giants including Sundar Pichai and Sam Altman are also expected to deliver their suggestions at the meeting. Speaking as a co-chair of the summit, Prime Minister Modi said, "AI is already reshaping our quality of life, economy, security and society.
- AI is writing the 'code' for humanity in this century. But it is very different from other technological milestones in history. AI is growing at an unprecedented rate.
