Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the complete works of Bharathiyar
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released the complete works of the great poet and freedom fighter Subramania Bharathi at his residence at Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi.
- The collection expresses the essence of Indian culture and the spiritual heritage of the country in a language that is understandable to the masses. The collection has been compiled by Sini Viswanathan and published by Alliance Publishers.
- It contains editions of Subramania Bharathi’s writings, explanations, documents, background information, philosophical presentations, etc.
- In a major step towards strengthening India’s disaster management capabilities, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the ‘Centre for Joint War Studies’, operating under the Integrated Defence Bureau of the Ministry of Defence, and the ‘National Disaster Management Authority’.
- This is a first step towards preparing for the challenges of disasters with a holistic perspective across India.
- The key features of this MoU include a technology-based approach to disaster management and international participation in disaster management in line with India's foreign policies. In this way, both the organizations will work towards building a disaster-resilient India.
