G20 Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction 2024
- A high-level Indian delegation led by Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Dr. PK Misra participated in the G-20 Task Force on Disaster Risk Reduction meeting held from October 30 to November 1, 2024 in Belem, Brazil.
- Consensus was reached in finalizing the first Ministerial Declaration on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). Dr PK Misra shared the progress made by the Government of India in disaster risk reduction.
- The Indian delegation, which participated in talks with the Brazilian and South African ministers, held bilateral talks with the ministers and representatives of Brazil, the host country of the conference, and Japan, Norway, South Africa, South Korea and Germany.
- The Task Force on Disaster Risk Reduction was established at the initiative of India during India's G20 chairmanship. India's activities highlight its growing role in global disaster recovery efforts and its commitment to building a safer, more resilient world.
