Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly Election Results 2024
- The votes cast in the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, as well as the by-elections to 48 assembly seats in 14 states and 2 Lok Sabha seats including Wayanad, were counted.
- In the ruling Mahayudi alliance in Maharashtra, the BJP, Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party and Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena have won the seats required for a majority. The alliance is winning or leading in 231 seats in total. The Congress-led alliance needs to win 145 seats out of the total 288 seats to get a majority, but is winning or leading in just 50 seats.
- In the Jharkhand assembly, where a win of 41 seats is enough to form the government, the Congress Alliance has won or led in 56 seats and has come to power for the third time. With this, the Hemant Soren-led coalition government is back in power in Jharkhand.
