Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Precision Engineering and Technology Centre
- The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, today (22.11.2024) at a function held on behalf of the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, inaugurated the Precision Engineering and Technology Centre, which has been set up by the Precision Manufacturing Cluster at the Tirumudivakkam CITCO Industrial Estate, Kanchipuram district, for the first time in South India, benefiting more than 3 lakh MSMEs across Tamil Nadu, at a cost of Rs. 18.18 crore.
- The Tamil Nadu government announced that a mega cluster project will be implemented at 5 locations in Tamil Nadu at a cost of about Rs. 100 crore to encourage MSMEs to compete in the international industry market, enhance their productivity and innovation, and pave the way for them to enter the growing industry segment.
- The government of Tamil Nadu has issued an order to set up an integrated wellness and climate center in the Public Health and Family Welfare Department, as a pioneering initiative to address the interrelated problems of people, animals and environmental health due to climate change.
- The additional chief secretary in the health and public health department will head the center, it said.
- The central government has released the Fifteenth Finance Commission grant for the rural local bodies of Karnataka for the financial year 2024-25. An unconditional grant of Rs. 448.29 crore has been released as the first installment. This fund is applicable to all 5949 eligible gram panchayats of the state.
- The Central Government, through the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Jal Shakti (Drinking Water and Sanitation), recommends the release of 15th Finance Commission grants to the states for rural local bodies. The allocated grants are recommended and released in 2 installments in a financial year.
