A High Level Committee chaired by Union Home Minister Mr Amit Shah has approved three projects worth Rs 725.62 crore under the Expansion and Modernization of Fire Services in Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal
- A high-level committee headed by Union Home and Cooperatives Minister Mr. Amit Shah has approved three projects worth Rs.725.62 crore under "Expansion and Modernization of Fire Services in States" for Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal.
- The committee approved Rs 147.76 crore for Chhattisgarh, Rs 201.10 crore for Odisha and Rs 376.76 crore for West Bengal. The high-level committee consists of Finance Minister, Agriculture Minister, NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman.
- Over Rs.21,026 crore has already been released to the states this year under the direction of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.
- In this, 26 states have been allocated Rs.14,878.40 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund, 15 states have been allocated Rs.4,637.66 crore from the National Disaster Relief Fund, 11 states have been allocated Rs.1,385.45 crore from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund and 03 states have been allocated Rs.124.93 crore from the National Disaster Mitigation Fund.
- TY Chandrachud's tenure as the 50th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court came to an end yesterday. Subsequently, TY Chandrachud nominated Sanjiv Khanna as the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The central government also accepted this recommendation.
- Accordingly, Sanjeev Khanna took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court today. President Drabupati Murmu administered the oath of office to Sanjeev Khanna at a function at the President's House in Delhi.
- The swearing-in ceremony took place at 10 am. Sanjeev Khanna has been sworn in as the 51st judge of the Supreme Court. His tenure is till 13 May 2025.
