Cabinet meeting approves 14 new investments
- The Tamil Nadu Cabinet meeting was held today (October 8) at the Chief Secretariat. It has approved 14 new investment projects for an investment of Rs.38,698.80 crore. These investments will create employment for 46,931 people.
- Tata Motors Limited (Rs. 9000 crore investment, employment 5000 persons) in Iranipet district, Foxconn Group subsidiary Yusan Technology (India) Pvt Ltd (Rs. 13180 crore investment, employment 14000 persons) in Kanchipuram district, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, In Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram and Tiruvannamalai districts Leap Keerin Energy Private Limited (Rs. 10375 crore investment, employment of 3000 persons), in Ariyalur district, Taiwanese subsidiary of Dean Shoes Group Private Limited ( 1000 crore investment, employment 15000 persons), Canes Circuits India Pvt Ltd in Kanchipuram district (Rs. 1395 crore investment, employment of 1033 persons) and Ascent Circuits Pvt Ltd in Krishnagiri district, Hosur (Rs. 612.60 crore investment, employment of 1200 persons) are notable investment projects.
- As the assembly elections for Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana have been completed, the counting of votes has started today (Oct. 8) morning. After 10 years in Jammu and Kashmir, elections were held in three phases (Sept. 18, 25, Oct. 1) for 90 assembly constituencies.
- According to the vote count, the Congress-National Conference Party (India Alliance) forms the government in Jammu and Kashmir. - The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Mr. Nitin Gadkari released the 'Humsafar Policy' designed to improve the comfort of passengers on national highways and expand various roadside facilities.
- The Humsafar policy aims to integrate various service providers on national highways and expressways and provide better facilities to passengers. Service providers like restaurants, fuel station, emergency treatment centers etc. are eligible to register under the Humsafar policy.
- The 'Humsafar Policy' will play a key role in providing world-class services by providing high-quality amenities to passengers and improving the overall travel experience of passengers on national highways.
- The Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai (IIT Madras) has launched a new cyber security center to promote basic and applied research that will drive innovation in the country. The center will carry out research on state-of-the-art technology in security for artificial intelligence models, cryptography, quantum security and IoT security.
