Direct Tax Collection in India by 2023-24
- It has also been reported that the total direct tax collection was only Rs 6.96 lakh crore in the financial year 2014-15 when the BJP government took charge. It is reported that the tax collection of corporate companies was 4.29 lakh crore rupees and the personal tax collection was 2.66 lakh crore rupees.
- In the financial year 2023-24, direct tax collection of 19 lakh 60 thousand crore rupees has been done. The Income Tax Department has said that this is the highest in previous years.
- It has been reported that the tax collection of corporate companies has doubled to 9 lakh 11 thousand crore rupees and the personal income tax collection has increased four times to 10.45 lakh crore rupees.
- It is also mentioned that while the number of income tax filers was 4.04 crore in the financial year 2014-15, it has increased from 8 crore to 61 lakh in the last financial year. Similarly, the number of tax payers increased from 5.70 crore in the financial year 2014-15 to 10.41 crore in the last financial year, according to the Income Tax Department.
- The Deendayal Antyodaya Scheme – National Rural Livelihood Movement under the Ministry of Rural Development has signed MoUs with nine public sector banks and one private bank.
- These banks are Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, UCO Bank, IDBI Bank.
- Under the Deendayal Antiyothaya Scheme – National Rural Livelihoods Initiative, these banks have designed specific schemes to provide financial assistance to women entrepreneurs.
- Loan schemes designed in such a way can help women get large loans to scale up their enterprises. The move is based on achieving the goal of creating Lakshtipati Sisters as announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
