Withdrawal of President's Rule in Jammu and Kashmir
- The five-year President's rule in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was withdrawn to pave the way for a new government elected through assembly polls. A gazette notification to this effect was issued by the Union Home Ministry on Sunday.
- The notification signed by President Draupadi Murmu said, 'In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 73 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, the President's rule in force in the Union Territory is hereby revoked immediately before the appointment of the Chief Minister under Section 54 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act'.
- Total inflation rose by 0.53% to 1.84% in September from 1.31% in August. The food price inflation rate increased to 11.53% from 3.11% in August.
- Prices of onions, vegetables and potatoes rose sharply in September compared to August. Inflation rate rose in September as prices of food products and factory goods also rose.
