The Prime Minister inaugurated the new office premises of the Embassy of India in Brunei
  • Accepting the invitation of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi reached Bandar Seri Begawan today on an official visit. This is the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Brunei. This is a historic visit by the Prime Minister to mark 40 years of diplomatic relations between India and Brunei.
  • The Prime Minister was accorded a ceremonial welcome on his arrival at Bandar Seri Begawan. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadi Billa, Crown Prince and Senior Minister in the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei, warmly welcomed the Prime Minister.
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new office premises of the Embassy of India in Brunei. At the event, he lit the lamp and unveiled the inscription.
  • The Prime Minister interacted with the Indian community who attended the opening ceremony. He appreciated their contribution in serving as a living bridge between the two countries and strengthening bilateral relations.
  • The first phase of Indian arrivals in Brunei began in the 1920s with the discovery of oil. Currently, about 14,000 Indians live in Brunei. The contribution of Indian doctors and teachers to the growth and development of Brunei's health and education sectors is well recognised.
A Joint Commanders' Conference was held at Central Brigade Headquarters, Lucknow
  • The Joint Commanders' Conference will be held on September 04 & 05, 2024 at Central Brigade Headquarters, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh will review the preparedness of the defense forces and address the top military leaders on September 5.
  • General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Tri-Services, will deliver the inaugural address on September 4. It will provide an opportunity for the commanders to review the modernization plans of the armed forces and discuss ways to enhance the country's defense capability through joint and enhanced coordination among the tri-services.
Defense Logistics Procurement Committee approves 10 capital procurement projects worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore to enhance readiness of defense forces
  • Chaired by Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh, the Defense Logistics Procurement Committee on 03 September 2024 issued the requirement for 10 capital acquisition projects worth Rs.1,44,716 crore.
  • Of the total value, 99% of logistics is sourced from domestically designed. A proposal to procure Future Ready Combat Vehicles has been approved to modernize the Indian Army's tank fleet.
  • Approval was granted for procurement of air defense fire control radars and acquisition of radars to detect and track aerial targets. The equipment is designed and developed by the Armored Vehicles Nigam and will be used by both the Mechanized Infantry Battalion and the Armored Brigade.
Paris Paralympic Games 2024 - Day 5
  • Nityashree Sivan from Tamil Nadu won bronze medal in Paris Paralympic Badminton Tournament. She won the medal by defeating Indonesian player Rina Marlina with the score of 21-14, 21-16.
  • Paris Paralympics Women's Badminton Singles S.U. 5 Division finals were held. Tulasimathi Murugesan from Tamil Nadu clashed with Qi Hya Young from China in this final. Tulsimathi Murugesan lost to Kyu Hya Young with the score of 17-21, 10-21 and won the silver medal in this exciting match. The winner was Kyu Hya Young who won the gold medal.
  • 26-year-old Sumit Andil from Sonipat, Haryana retained his gold medal in the Paralympic javelin event yesterday with a new record throw of 70.59 metres.
  • India's Suhas went down in straight sets 9 - 21, 13 - 21 against France's Lucas in the men's (SL4) singles badminton event in Paris. With this, he has won silver for the second time in a row at the Paralympics badminton events.
  • On the 5th day today (Sep 2), India's Yogesh Katunia won the silver medal in men's discus throw in the F56 category.
MoU between Central Government, Government of Tripura, National Liberation Front of Tripura and representatives of All Tripura LTTE
  • A Memorandum of Understanding is to be signed in New Delhi on Wednesday 4th September 2024 between the Central Government, Tripura Government and representatives of Tripura National Liberation Front and All Tripura Tigers Force (ATTF) in the presence of Union Home Minister and Cooperatives Minister Mr. Amit Shah.
  • The program will be attended by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Tripura Government.
