This ambitious project will cost Rs. 850 crore investment. This marks a significant leap forward in India's computational capabilities for more reliable, accurate weather, climate forecasting.
- These are located at two major locations, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) at Pune and the National Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRRWF) at Noida.

- In addition, there is a dedicated discrete system for artificial intelligence and machine learning applications capable of 1.9 beta flops. With this expansion, the Ministry of Earth Sciences will increase its total computing power to 22 beta flops, a significant increase from the previous capacity of 6.8 beta flops.
- In keeping with tradition, these sophisticated systems are named after the celestial bodies associated with the Sun. Earlier systems were named Aditya, Bhaskara, Pratiyush, Mihir.
