Discovery of 13th century Rajendra Chola inscription
- An inscription dating back to the 13th century has been found in the oldest Veerateswarar temple in Keehoyur area next to Thirukovilur. While the work was being done for the foundation of this temple, while the front part of the temple was being levelled, some stone pillars were seen.
- Some inscriptions were also found on these stone pillars. After this, when the Kallakurichi inscription was examined by the researchers, it was revealed that it is the inscription of Rajendra Chola from the 13th century.
- Also, it has been revealed that in this inscription, the names of towns including Tiruvenney Nallur and the gift of gold have been written.
- Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperatives, Mr. Amit Shah, from 9th to 15th August, 2024 under the 'Har Ghartiranga' House to House National Flag Movement, hoisted the tricolor flag at their homes and uploaded their selfies (selfies) on https://harghartiranga.com website. He appealed to the people of the country to upload.
