Padongdorn Shinawatra elected as the 31st Prime Minister of Thailand
- A vote was held in the Thai Parliament this morning following the recent impeachment of former Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin following a Constitutional Court ruling for breach of ethics.
- At the age of 37, Shinawatra will become the second female prime minister in Thailand's history and the youngest prime minister.
- The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has designed EOS 08, a state-of-the-art satellite weighing 175.5 kg for Earth observation operations. The EOS 08 satellite is equipped with 3 research instruments.
- These tools are said to be operational for one year. The EOS 08 satellite was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Research Center in Sriharikota at 9.17 am on a compact SSLV D3 rocket.
- The SSLV D3 rocket successfully placed the satellite into a low-Earth orbit at an altitude of 475 km exactly 13 minutes after its scheduled liftoff. According to ISRO, this satellite will monitor the earth 24 hours a day and will be useful for monitoring disaster, environment, fire etc.
