Discovery of chess pieces in Vijaya Karisalkulam excavations
- In the 3rd phase of excavation in Vijaya Karisalkulam, Virudhunagar district, clay figurines and more than 1250 items have been found in a broken state. Recently, clay chess pieces were found.
- Prime Minister Modi unveiled 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient and bio-rich crop varieties at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi.
- Prime Minister interacted with farmers and scientists during the event. The 61 crops released by the Prime Minister include 34 field crops and 27 horticulture crops in 109 varieties.
