First state to implement reservation for women in co-operative societies
- Pushkar Singh Dhami led BJP rule in Uttarakhand. In this case, the State Co-operative Minister Dr. said that there should be participation of women in cooperative societies. The state government has approved Dhan Singh Rawat's proposal.
- Based on this, the state government has announced 33 percent reservation for women in cooperative societies in Uttarakhand. This notification is also applicable to various cooperative societies including District Cooperative Societies, Multipurpose Cooperative Societies and State Level Cooperative Societies.
- India's Manu Packer Sarabjot Singh and South Korea's Lee Wongo-Oh Ye Jin in the 10m air pistol mixed bronze medal match at the ongoing Paris Olympics.
- Undeterred after losing the first round, the Indian team continued to score points in subsequent rounds with accurate shots on target. In the end Manu Bakar - Sarabjot Singh won the bronze medal with a score of 16-10. With this the number of medals won by India in the Paris Olympics has increased to 2.
- Earlier, India's Manu Pakar, who won bronze in the 10m air pistol individual event, equaled the record of winning two medals in the same Olympics after 124 years.
- Earlier in the 1900 Olympics, Norman Pritchards, an Anglo-Indian, had won 2 silver medals in athletics. Manu Bakar also holds the historic record of winning two medals in the same Olympics in independent India.
