National Level E-governance Award 2024
- In the year 2003, the National E-Government Award was given by the Central Government. The award for the current year 2024 is going to be given to Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi District Collector S. Rajalingam. The district is located in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha constituency.
- Every year Central Ministries, Union Ministries, Union Territories, Central and State Government Institutions, Districts, Local Governments, Private Education and Research Institutes apply for the National E-Government Award. This year Varanasi District Collector S. Rajalingam has been selected for the National E-Government Award.
- CPN-UML party chief Sharma Oli last week withdrew his support to the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Center (CPN-MC) Prasanda-led government. Taking this decision following the recent disagreement between the two, Sharma Oli announced that he will form a new coalition government along with Nepali Congress Party leader Shor Bahadur Devbar.
- Instead of resigning from the post of Prime Minister, Prasanda faced the trust vote on the 12th of this month. Prasanda Party has only 32 members in the 275-member Nepali Parliament. Accordingly, in the vote of confidence held this month in Parliament, Prasanda received only 63 support votes.
- While the support of 138 members is required for victory, it was announced that he failed in the vote of confidence. After that, KP Sharma Oli met President Ram Chandra Bowdel and claimed the right to form the government under his leadership.
- In this case, Atip Bowdel on Sunday appointed Sharma Oli as the new Prime Minister under Article 76(2) of the Constitution. As per Nepal's constitution, a prime minister must prove a majority in parliament within 30 days of taking office, and on Sunday (July 21) he moved the motion of confidence. In which Sharma Oli won after getting the support of majority of the members.
