The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for various projects worth Rs 29,400 crore in Mumbai, Maharashtra and dedicated the completed projects to the nation
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid foundation stones for various projects related to roads, railways and ports worth more than Rs.29,400 crores in Mumbai this evening (13.07.2024). He dedicated the completed projects to the nation.
- The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Rs 16,600 crore Thane-Borivali tunnel project. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Rs 6,300-crore tunnel construction project on the Goregaon-Mulund link road.
- The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for Kalyan Yard Redevelopment Express Shakti Pannoku Cargo Terminal at Turpe in Navi Mumbai. The Prime Minister also launched the Chief Minister's Youth Program (Mukhya Mantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan) which will be implemented at a cost of around Rs 5600 crore.
- The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved a research proposal for evaluation of dredged sands in estuaries. Sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs.46,47,380/-, the project will be implemented by the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (IIT Bombay) for a period of three years.
- The primary objective of this research is to make dredged sand suitable for various constructions. This innovative approach aims to turn dredged sand, normally found as waste, into a valuable resource. This will contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection.
- The country's retail inflation, based on the All-India Consumer Price Index (UPI), rose to a four-month high due to rising food prices. Retail inflation rose to 5.08 percent in June from a one-year low of 4.75 percent in May.
- It has increased to 5.66 percent in rural areas and 4.39 percent in urban areas. It is noteworthy that the inflation of food items has increased to 9.4 percent.
- Russia must immediately stop its aggression against Ukraine. Military should be withdrawn from Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. Zaporizhia nuclear power plant should be given to Ukraine.
- Ukraine introduced a draft resolution at the UN calling for an end to attacks on critical power plants. In the referendum on this, 99 countries including America, France and Germany voted in favor of the resolution.
- 9 countries including Russia, Belarus, Cuba, North Korea and Syria voted against. 60 countries boycotted, including India, China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Egypt, Nepal, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
