Scheme to run Pink Autos in Chennai will be implemented
- Social welfare department grant request was held in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. In it, it has been announced that the annual family income ceiling, which is one of the eligibility criteria for benefiting from welfare schemes implemented by the Social Welfare Department for women and girl children, will be raised from Rs 72,000 to Rs 1,20,000.
- In Chennai, Social Welfare Minister Geeta Jeevan has said that for the safety of women and to create self-employment, a project will be implemented to operate 200 young red autos (Pink Autos).
Center approves renewable power transmission projects of 4.5 GW each from Rajasthan and Karnataka
- The Center has approved inter-state power transmission projects to share and distribute 9 GW of renewable electricity from Rajasthan and Karnataka.
- These schemes will be implemented on a fee-based competitive bidding basis. These projects are part of the plan to install and connect 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, of which 200 GW has already been installed and connected.
India-Bangladesh agree to negotiate Comprehensive Trade Agreement and Integrated Economic Partnership
- This approval was given during the talks held today between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who has arrived in India.
- Agreements were signed between the two countries in the presence of the leaders of the two countries in various sectors including rail transport, maritime transport development and digital domain.
- After talks between the two heads of state, the India-Bangladesh Memorandum of Understanding on Green Partnership was signed. Also, it has been agreed to negotiate the establishment of an Integrated Economic Partnership Agreement between India and Bangladesh.
- Prime Minister Modi also said that India welcomes Bangladesh's decision to join the Indo-Pacific Ocean Initiative. Modi also said that India has always attached importance to friendly relations with its neighbours.
